When to Choose Mesh over Felt
- Defined particle cutoff — monofilament mesh has a woven, uniform opening; nothing larger passes.
- Reusable — wash out the cake and put the bag back in service; ideal where solids are valuable or disposal is costly.
- Product recovery — capture and reclaim solids rather than absorbing them into depth media.
- Low fiber shedding — no loose fibers migrating downstream.

Nylon Filter Bags
Most of the bags on this page are, strictly speaking, nylon filter bags — NMO stands for nylon monofilament, a single continuous nylon strand woven into a precise screen. If you’ve been quoted a “nylon mesh filter bag,” an “NMO bag,” or a “nylon strainer bag,” they’re the same product family: nylon mesh in 35–800 micron, sewn into every standard bag size and any custom dimension. Nylon’s strength and abrasion resistance are why it displaced multifilament weaves as the default mesh media; polyester multifilament remains the economy option for coarse straining.
Construction
All standard sizes 1–4 plus custom dimensions. Sewn construction with steel, stainless, polypropylene, or nylon rings; flange tops; drawstring and tie-on styles for open tanks and standpipes.
