Food and beverage filtration has one extra requirement the rest of industry doesn’t: everything that touches the product has to be food-contact safe. We supply filter bags in FDA-compliant media — felt and mesh — for straining, clarifying, and polishing duties across food, beverage, and flavor production.
What We Recommend
| Application | Media | Typical starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Straining syrups, juices, sauces | FDA-grade nylon mesh (washable, reusable) | 100–400 µm |
| Clarifying / polishing before bottling | FDA-grade felt | 10–50 µm |
| Edible oils | FDA-grade felt | 25–100 µm |
| Flavors & extracts | FDA-grade felt or high-efficiency | 1–25 µm |
| Open-tank filling / small batch straining | Tie-on bags, FDA media | To suit |
Material Notes
- FDA compliance: specify FDA grade when ordering — media and construction (including thread or welded seams) are then all food-contact compliant. Ask for compliance documentation with your order if your QA program requires it.
- Reusable mesh: monofilament mesh bags wash out and go back in service — a real cost advantage in straining duties where the solids load is coarse.
- Metal detection programs: if your HACCP plan restricts metal parts, ask about plastic-ring bags instead of steel rings.
- Temperature: hot-fill and CIP temperatures matter for media choice — tell us your process temperature.
